Kids In The Kitchen

Junior League’s Kids in the Kitchen’s (KITK) mission is to educate kids on the importance of making healthy choices to help lower the occurrence of childhood obesity and the associated health problems, such as diabetes.

To help kids learn how to make these healthy choices, the committee provides fun and interactive stations at a variety of events. Our stations include:

• Chef hat decorating

• Apron decorating

• Cooking station: Fruit pizza (rice cake, whipped cream cheese, fruit slices)

• Cooking station: Trail mix ’n match (whole grains, dried fruits, seeds/nuts)

• Spin the wheel nutrition trivia with prizes

Some KITK events also feature a nutrition face painter and Nutriman – a nutrition super hero.

In the 2016-2017 year, the KITK committee will participate in 6 events, including events in collaboration with Interfaith of The Woodlands and The Woodlands Children’s Museum.
