WHO IS INVOLVED IN JUNIOR LEAGUE OF THE WOODLANDS, INC.?
The Members of Junior League of The Woodlands (JLTW) are women dedicated to making a difference in the suburban north Houston communities in which they live. The League attracts women with a variety of skills, backgrounds, and interests. JLTW welcomes women who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism regardless of race, religion, or national origin.
WHAT AREA DOES JUNIOR LEAGUE OF THE WOODLANDS SERVICE?
JLTW has the unique opportunity to stretch across a large community area to help others. We service Champions, Spring, Cypress, Klein, Tomball, Conroe, Montgomery, Magnolia, Kingwood, Fairbanks, Jersey Village, Humble, the FM1960 area, as well as The Woodlands. We have Members who live all across these service areas and in Houston. Our League serves suburban north Houston.
WHO CAN JOIN THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF THE WOODLANDS?
To be eligible to join the Junior League as a New Member, a woman must be 22 years old by May 31 of the year proposed, a legal resident of the Greater Houston Metropolitan area, and attend one New Member Information Session.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO JOIN?
All women interested in learning more about becoming a Member of the Junior League must attend one of the New Member Information Sessions. WHAT ARE THE MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS?
Members of Junior League of The Woodlands are trained for effective action and leadership as volunteers. This knowledge can be used in the League, your profession, and daily life. As a Member of Junior League, you also make a difference in your community. Each year, our organization contributes to multiple community programs, in both volunteer hours and financial support. Additionally, as a Junior League Member, you are a part of the Association of Junior Leagues International, which includes 294 Leagues throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Great Britain.
WHAT ARE THE MEMBERSHIP COMMITMENTS?
New Members engage in an intensive one-year training program. All Members are committed to attend General Meetings, be a Member of a committee, and help with the Holiday Market, our major fundraiser for our community programs. The financial commitments of Members include annual dues, purchasing/selling of Holiday Market tickets, and purchasing/selling of our current cookbook, Texas Tables.
